Connections and Disconnect

Here are a few of my favorite poems I wrote this year about feelings of disconnect and connection. Iโve had these feelings, and I know Iโm not alone
This first one โFloating inโ I wrote as I felt like an observer at times floating into many places (including online in early November) and deciding if I should stay or not. Sometimes what once served us does not anymore and itโs time to move on. There are times you check back later and see if the dust has settled.
So much disconnect in this world, especially in the past few years. Prejudices and different ideas can cause a wedge between us as humans. Itโs heart breaking. So, I wrote this
Who to trust? Thatโs what this is about. Who is good, who is bad? You can call it splitting. You can also call it life. People we know can let us down and sometimes the tables can become turned on us.
Ever want to escape in your mind during a tough time? Enough said
Do we meet people by chance? Is it random or something more?
Searching for validation to fill emptiness. Guilty. Itโs so easy to scroll for those dopamine hits
My latest poem. Iโve checked out in some ways these past few years, and then there was comfort in that. The comfort can cause more loneliness though. It isnโt easy โgetting back into the worldโ after avoiding in person human connections. I am trying though. Baby steps.
Thank you all so much for reading and commenting during these past few months.
Happy New Year!
