Escaping life

Hiding out

in my mind

wondering what I will find

Hiding out on here

wanting answers to be clear

Hiding out in work

covering up those feelings that lurk

Hiding in illusions

to escape my intrusions

Hiding out where the water is warm

to avoid life’s storms

Hiding out to escape

and questioning fate

Hiding out when I feel disconnect

and it’s my own self I reject

Hiding out too long

It’s time to change my song

Finding my way back to now

Please show me how

It can be easier to hide

and protect my pride

I built this wall

am I ready for it to fall?
