Great poem. Everyone can be beautiful but real beauty comes from the inside. ❤️

Thanks, so much Alina. So true. It is the real beauty that shines though that makes someone beautiful. Sadly many judge before getting to know the person

Sad but true. I personally dislike the whole plastic culture a la Kardashians and co. These people are super unhealthy but because of a lack of awareness they will never agree. ❤️

I totally agree with your thoughts on the plastic culture. I'm glad I grew up when I did, but it wasn't much healthier with people drinking Tab and smoking cigarettes loose weight - Yep I'm old and going way back.

I don’t think we really start living until we’re in our 40s and 50s. We need to experience life and go through its ups and downs walk through the fire, swim through the floods, and stand up in the tremendous winds, and only Life can teach us that.

We weather the storms, and we build strength and courage, and become resilient.

@jane Deegan- I’m a little bit older than you but I didn’t want to say happy birthday in advance and hope it’s the best one ever 🎉 I tried and it wouldn’t let me post under your reply so I’m posting it here.

Blessings to everyone 🤗💕🎉

Thanks so much, Kathleen. I don't think we start living until at least 40. I thought life would be over around 50 and it wasn't and I realized life kept going on. I agree with that! Life lessons can teach us so much including compassion. Thanks so much for commenting

All differences are hard to carry. Shy pretty children get ignored or tormented, too. This is a wonderful poem, Jane. Thank you xx

Thanks so much Francesca! That's true. I don't think anyone is immune to being bullied and or ignored at least once I their lives, sadly

I used to think that way. But now I believe it’s more about how you see yourself, value and love yourself. I guess people mostly mirror how you feel about yourself.

Thanks! So true! The word pretty could be interchanged with other words if you think about it. Sadly, people are still judged on other things.

This is a great look at judgment and the harm it can do, Jane. None of us are in a position to judge others.

Thanks Rod! Sad but true. I try not to judge because I think we all do to some extent

Beautiful and insightful poem Jane. As an 85-year-old black female, I changed the "pretty" to "white".

I love your poems. Keep up the good work!

Thanks, Jenyce. I was thinking how that can affect, races, genders and ages bias to name a few. Thanks so much for commenting and stopping by

I've been thinking about similar things recently and why some people are judged so harshly because of the way they dress or speak or whichever random nonsensical thing! Great poem x

So true, sadly. So much judgement. I have been guilty too even if I wasn't conscious of it. I'm trying to do better. Diversity is becoming more accepted now more than when I was young but we still have a long way to go. I truly appreciate you stopping by to comment

That's what I find so interesting, why we feel judgement towards others because of how they look, I wonder if it's the our clan, your clan thing?

Interesting take on this and yes on some cases. There can be (and is) a division of people sometime of people that don't think or act, believe or look like us

Thanks for the kindness. Unfortunately so many have felt that pain at one time or another. There are other discriminations too with race, gender and aging. I could go on

You said a mouthful about race gender and aging plus religion /and they might feel it worse in a few months sadly .
