Our strange roadtrip finds in the 80s included Bedrock City (The Flintstone’s park) in South Dakota. It closed in 2015! My kids were subjected to Enchanted Forest outside Salem, Oregon. I’m pretty sure that has scarred them for life. Thanks for sharing your photos and memories.
I never heard of Bedrock City. I feel a Google search coming on. I've heard of the Enchantes Forest but never been there. I'll have to check tha out. Thanks so much for sharing
Also check out Reptile Gardens (another great, lesser known South Dakota attraction). It’s like people only ever talk about Mount Rushmore. There’s more to South Dakota, people, than just 60’ high granite carved president faces!
I never heard of that one either. I've never been to South Dakota (flying over doesn't count 😉) I was in Wyoming. The closets yet. I'd love to take an old fashioned road trip. The wanderlust in me!! My husband isn't a fan of that, with a bad back and driving is way more stressful now
I’m so close to Lancaster PA! I need to check that out! My family vacations were in a VW camper, my dad driving like a maniac so we could see as many national parks as possible! 😂. Oh, memories!!!!
Dutch Wonderland is a nice park. It's great if have younger children. My son loved it when he was young. Now it's Dorney Park or Great Adventure. I miss those younger days sometimes
I remember seeing that pink hotel on a vacation once and I think I had that exact rainbow shirt. Great photos, stories, and memories my friend!!
Oh the Rainbow shirt! I know. Who didn't have that? I'm in 7th or 8th grade there. Not sure
That’s the time I used to draw rainbows on things. 🙌
Yes! We checked it out but didn't stay there. My dad liked visiting expensive hotels that we couldn't afford to stay at 🤦♀️
Same here. Lol
I wore that same rainbow shirt, and had a very similar hairstyle too.
Lol!! I think we all did
That statue! Definitely creepy😂 Thanks for sharing your memories with us, Jane. This was a fun post.
Thanks! It was fun putting that together. "But wait there's more" lol. There is a part 2 I'm working on

Flying over does not count. However, if you land and set foot in an airport, I’d count that!
Nope. Not even an airport. South Dakota is definitely on my bucket list.
Love it Jane! Thanks for sharing!

Weird eggs must have been a thing. We used to go to Never Never Land, now closed, in Point Defiance Park in Tacoma. There was a creepy Humpty Dumpty.
I noticed a few other's too on my Google search. One was in New Hampshire and they had one in another Santa Land in North Carolina.
