These Mountains
These mountains we’ve climbed
days
years
tears
we climbed them all
through winter winds
joy and pain
we climbed them again
This mountain is steeper
we climbed it for so long
are we forgetting where we belong?
Can we take a break
and stop
and see how far
we climbed
this time?
The beauty is there
in the valleys below
casting
shadows
letting in light
melting plights
Let’s rest for now
on this mountainside
and gaze around
so much beauty to be found
Feel the sun on your face
and see how far
we traveled from that place

Been there, done that
All to easily said
But I have felt it, let it rest in me.
Heard the mountains silence
Treasured the Awe it brings
The joy, the solitude the aloneness but never lonely
Anxiety disapated, calm again
At one with nature
The balm for the soul
Lovely poem
Thankyou
Jan this is my favourite poem of yours so far! I love how you added the “plights” in.
