Rembering our dog Kya and questioning bots online. Yes, a dog's life is simple. Humans make it complex
Thank you for your kindness and we grieve the loss of our girl
Thank you all for the kind words and compassion for myself and my family as we said goodbye to our sweet 15 year-old Golden Retriever Kya on Thursday
I was overwhelmed by the amount of kindness here on Substack for us after I posted a note in Kya’s memory yesterday
The post was almost at 300 by noon and now heading towards 600. I have close to 100 comments as well. At first I wanted to thank them all, but as I inspected a few accounts, I realized some accounts appeared fake, and I halted my replies for now.
It's a shame we don't know what's “Real or Memorex” (if you are close to my age you probably get this).
I will feel like writing again when it is time. For now I am going to share Kya's memory and celebrate her life
A pet's love is real in a world that doesn't seem real sometimes. I think that's why it's so it so hard to say goodbye to them.
Life is simple as a dog. They love.
They live. They play. They forgive. They accept us for who we are.
Rest in peace Kya. Until we meet again
No words. I didn't realize places like that existed, it's something I can't read about now. Thank you for rescuing your sweet girls. We've had several rescues. Our one was from the south lived in a hoarding situation. He was one of the few dogs that made it out alive. So sad. Humans are letting these angels and gifts to us down
I forgot to add that I’m honouring my grief and her memory through a weekly series called ‘Letters to Cleo’ 🐾 it feels therapeutic at a time when I really haven’t felt much like writing.
