Written Words -frozen in time -a poem

They connect us all if we heed their call

Old paper, faded in time

In a box that holds so many memories

a single page

told tales of a war waging across the sea

so far away from me

First babies of the new year

graced the page

during a time of fear

I was I a blurb

bottom of the page

I’ve always taken second stage

I arrived at night

when I figured the time was right

In the middle

second fiddle

Was this a prequel to my life​?

or an imagined strife​​

Middle child

I ran wild

I scaled trees

and longed to be free

Writing hours on end

sitting on the edge of my bed

Writing words

I longed for others to see

Where did that time go?

who only knows?

time slipping away from me

between that old newspaper and what will be

The paper frozen in time

now words can be skewed

and cause so many feuds

The box that held memories

of old clipping and written notes

writing has been one thing that is true for me

Written words

that span from time to time

and begging to connect us all

if we listen to their call

I've saved every single note from you. Time goes so fast…
