This post was inspired by
most recent post (I’m having trouble sharing the link in my article, sorry) about living in the moment and claiming those last days of summer.Time, please slow down. I quietly plea on this August morning, as I watch the dawn become a new day right in front of me.
Summer is moving on, soon this moment will be gone.
As quick as I try to grasp, this moment will soon be the past.
The catbird sings, so many sounds the morning brings.
Cicadas are calling across the golf course. Their song hinting at remorse.
They are jockeying for their place; that the crickets will soon replace.
I want to take it all in.
My heart aches as this day begins.
For now, I have this August morning, my notebook, my pen, and I. As I sit under the late summer sky.
Oh I am so with you. Summer is retreating and soon it will be August. Although I love Autumn, Summer is lazy and filled with warmth and excitement.
Thank you for the mention and thrilled it inspired you to write your own beautiful tribute to this time of year. All the feels! Loved it.
