This Monster

It lurks in the dark

finds us in the park

invades those cracks

doesn’t give slack

finds us where we eat

then makes us retreat

finds us at tea

then changes what we see

this enemy between

is quite mean

it lies

it denies

It strikes anyway

day after day

You can walk away

and keep the monster away

please leave us alone

yet you find us

wherever we may roam
