This Could Be a Beach

Summer is out of reach

This snow could be the beach

but summer is out of reach

For a moment I close my eyes

so many days that passed by

Where did the years go?

Somewhere beyond the snow

Warmth of my coat

a trick that summer isn’t remote

If I close my eyes

with the sun in my face

winter disappears without a trace

Sledding up and down the hill

not feeling the day’s chill

soaking up the sun

laughing and having fun

Yet, this could be another day

and summer doesn’t seem so far away.
