Burnout is staring at your phone
knowing you can’t get water from a stone
Burnout is wanting to grow
yet, you are moving slow
Burnout is wanting to stay in your pajamas all day
Instead, you get moving anyway
Burnout is feeling numb
and wondering what you've become
Burnout is wanting to run away
Burnout is thinking you have to stay
Burnout is falling into a well
Burnout is not knowing you fell under it's spell.
Burnout is clawing out
and not wanting to be found out
Burnout is feeling like you failed
All because you seemed to flail
Burnout makes you want to hide
and no one knows what's going on inside
Burnout is feeling shame
when you no longer want to play the game
Buy me a coffee or treats for my pets!
This too will pass, Jane! Been there and done that ... many times. Go do fun things for a few days and when you really miss what you're burned out about --I mean when you really, really miss it, burnout will be gone!
Jane, I resonated with this piece since I'm struggling with burnout right now.
