Peaking at the horizon
a slim sliver
almost missed
right before the land was kissed
Was she spying on the sun,
to see if he was having fun?
Would she catch him
with that morning star,
the one he worshiped from afar?
She would soon fade
as the dawn became a new day.
Was he was trying to shine light
on what was her plight?
She could never stop running
from those shadows
that no one could know
So she kept far away
day after day
in the sky
until she asked herself why.
“It’s those shadows
no one must see
I will have to flee.”
She moved across the sky
as time passed by
a little light on those shadows
uncovered what she didn’t know
and if she kept her distance
part of her would be revealed
as she healed
Beautiful and touching !!!! 🌙 & ☀️ two of my favorite things :) Thank You for sharing 💜
I read poems several times because I get something different each time I read them. A coma or period missed changes the verse completely.
