Summer, When Did You Leave?
Summer, when did you leave?
I thought we’d have one more reprieve
Now you elude me
in these gray days I see
The shadows are longer
winds are stronger
Chill in the air
as I put away my lawn chair
A lump in throat
for warm days remote
I thought there would be time
Yet, summer you slipped on by.
