Bot or Not?
What is real in an Ai world
It’s another morning and you open your app on your phone and notice you received a new follower (or several) or a subscriber, and something feels off. The profile photo is obviously Ai. Then you noticed that you received a little too perfect Ai generated response to your last article. Do you engage in responding in hopes of more post engagement or does 1% of you think it could be real? Deep down inside you know it’s not. Will it benefit you or do you delete and block once again?
I am getting so tired of questioning everything!
Please tell me this. It is a thing to use Ai profile photos? Are you still real? Maybe I’m missing this in my older age.
So, what is real? Nothing here really. You heard that. Not 100% anyway. We never know all of anyone in our lives so what makes you think you would online?
I am real, but am I really? You know about parts of my life, but you don’t really know me. My photos are taken from the most flattering angles most times. I’m smiling on these photos. I don’t always look that way obviously 95% or more of the time. My internal and external light is not accurate. We all have images of ourselves that we want the world to see, as authentic as we try to portray. Authenticity could be our brand. Is it mine?
***I do not use AI ever for my writing.*** Why would anyone? I can’t imagine the joy of my writing and thought process being taken away by a machine. Maybe it’s a true artists mindset. I don’t know.
It doesn’t matter. Or does it?
Either way, I am suspicious of you even if you are not blocked. I’m not sure where you are getting your content. Your profile could be fake or someone else’s. Maybe it is your writing, and you like to use ai images for your profile photo. Maybe you are using images for fun. Who knows?
I am going back to writing now and my daily life now. I know we are all showing fake images of ourselves and we hide behind masks online and off.
For now, I’ll co-exist with the bots and those that seem real to me. For the rest of you writers, readers and artists, please know this is a human you are interacting with :) My writing has typos and I sometimes go on rants, but it is always my own creation.
What are your thoughts?
Do you keep bots or not?
Have you ever used Ai in your writing?
What tips you off on fake accounts online?
Another article of mine on this subject.

I do use the correction bot because I forget a comma or some other punctuation along the way and my eighth grade English teacher said if we couldn't write properly, she would haunt us after she passed away. I believed her so I use Grammarly to not get haunted.
Good morning Jane. I am not on here for long in a day but now I’m a bit concerned. As an older woman with zero knowledge of computers, I wouldn’t who is and who is not a bot. 🙀 I never had a computer and years ago tried something on my phone and ended up at Apple. This is the reason that I use notes and not posts, I’m confused. Anyway, this was quite interesting and I never used AI personally. Just the thought of robots taking over is enough to freak me out. If I’m stuck, it’s dictionary and thesaurus! 🙏
